The Michelin Guide's review
The mountain chain culminating at the pico de Almanzor (2,592m) is depicted by two very contrasting faces: gentle slopes, of glacial origins, dominate the northern face, forming natural lakes and cirques, while to the south lies a steep granite wall, carved by erosion. In addition to stunning landscapes, the Sierra de Gredos offers countless opportunities for walking and observing the wildlife.
