Villa Strassburger

Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
Villa Strassburger, Deauville's most impressive abode, was built in 1907 near the race course by Baron Henri de Rothschild, a fan of horse races. This huge manor stands in the middle of extensive grounds planted with apple trees. The chequered stone and brick ground-floor façade contrasts with the half-timbered first storey, while turrets and bow windows add the final touch to this characteristic Neo-Normandy edifice.
