Founded in 1836 in the former Arquebusiers Barracks, the entirely refurbished museum looks at issues surrounding biodiversity and the fragility of the environment. Regional geology and stuffed animals placed in reconstructions of their natural habitat (dioramas) take pride of place. The main ecosystems of the Côte d'Or département as well as other parts of the world are presented. Finally, films exploring the whole universe are shown beneath the 10m-high dome of the planetarium.
