The warm waters of the Parque Nacional Marino Ballena attract humpback whales, present from August to November, when they come from the South Pacific, and December to March, when they come from the North Pacific. The sea also teems with divers, drawn here by the coral reefs. The park lies close to a popular surfing spot, Dominical beach.
