The Michelin Guide's review
This small district is named after Sir William Temple (1628-1699), the Provost of Trinity, who purchased some land on the south bank of the river that included a sand bank (The Bar). Today, Temple Bar is a model of urban redevelopment with its cultural venues, night clubs, pubs and trendy restaurants, particularly popular with night owls at the weekend. Its paved streets are very pleasant during the daytime.
