The Michelin Guide's review
Designed by Leon Battista Alberti, Palazzo Rucellai was built between 1446 and 1451 by Bernardo Rossellino for Giovanni Rucellai, a member of an important Florentine family. The palace is the first example since Antiquity of a façade decorated with the Doric, Ionic and Corinthian orders superimposed one on top of the other.
