The Michelin Guide's review
The extraordinary Amon Carter Museum of American Art gained international stature with its 2001 expansion. The ground floor has a peerless collection of 391 paintings by Charles Russell (1864-1926) and paintings and sculpture by Frederic Remington (1861-1909), two artists famed for depicting the Old American West. The upper level is devoted to other 19C and 20C American painters, visiting exhibitions and a splendid photography collection counting 230 000 images.
