The Michelin Guide's review
St Michael's Tower marks the site, known as The Cross, where Gloucester's main medieval streets once met. The former residence of Bishop Hooper in Westgate Street is now home to the Gloucester Folk Museum. Along Southgate, admire the attractive half-timbered house (1560) in which Robert Raikes, the pioneer of the Sunday School movement in the late 18th century, once lived.
