Built in the 12C, Gurk Cathedral is one of the finest Romanesque churches in Austria. It contains an abundance of masterpieces, such as, outside, the foliage decoration on the west porch and, inside, the Romanesque murals in the Episcopal Chapel, the crypt with 100 pillars, and the solid gold high altar.
