Located in Halifax Harbour, east of Point Pleasant Park, the island, with its thick forests, colourful wildflowers and large pond, is a magnet for nature lovers. Former roads have been converted into walking and cycling trails that lead to the remains of Fort McNab (at the southernmost tip) and to sandy beaches. Sailing to McNab to anchor in a quiet cove and overnight camping are both extremely popular activities.
