The Michelin Guide's review
Sam Houston Park, the first public park of the city in 1900, lies at the westernmost end of Downtown. The park is home to several historic structures, among which Kellum-Noble House (1847), the city's oldest brick dwelling, and The Old Place (1823), a rustic cabin built out of rough- sawn planks, thought to be the oldest building in Texas.
