The Michelin Guide's review
The mausoleum of Minh Mang, completely dedicated to painting, poetry and philosophy, is without a doubt the most majestic of the tombs, along with that of Tu Duc. The king, who reigned from 1820-41, designed the mausoleum during his lifetime, although it was not built until after his death. Built along a 700m axis, the complex consists of around 35 monuments, including palaces, pavilions, bridges, canals and lakes.
