The Michelin Guide's review
Between the 3C BC and 3C AD, the inhabitants of northern Kyushu, in addition to migrants from Korea and China, settled near the rice paddies. In the wake of archaeological digs, elements of the Yayoi culture, such as large watch-towers and half-buried thatched roof houses, have been reconstructed at the foot of the lush green hillsides of Yoshinogari. Clay artefacts and impressive burial jars are elegantly displayed.
