The Michelin Guide's review
Following an agreement between Southern China and France, the latter began construction of the huge project which would result in the Yunnan railway. The Yunnan Railway Museum depicts the history of this extraordinary technical challenge, which required amazing feats of engineering and construction in order to adapt to the local terrain. A second section is dedicated to a fine collection of old machines, including one of the two original railcars in operation during the 1930s.
