The Michelin Guide's review
A small train, followed by a lift, take you into the heart of Lacave grottoes, discovered by Armand Viré in 1902, beneath the Gramat limestone plateau. The underground galleries reveal the relentless work of nature and amazing stalactites and stalagmites. Among the beautifully lit huge halls and rimstones, the highlight of the visit is Marvel Hall, stretching for over 2,000m²/6,561ft², which immerses the visitor in a magical ambience of phosphorescent concretions.
