This museum showcases a profusion of gold jewellery and other treasures (headdresses, ceremonial vessels and sceptres), all of which bear witness to the mastery and sophistication of the craftsmen of the Mochica culture of Sipán. Apart from the scary Crab-Man and Squid-Man statues, the stars of the show come from the tomb of a nobleman of Sipán (c. 3C), displayed in a striking reconstitution by the museum (his suite is depicted in a room in 3D).
