Place du Plot comes alive at weekends, when the market is set up around the Fontaine de la Bidoire, which was built in 1246. In the 13C, many merchants from Poitou, Provence and Spain came to lay out their wares: weapons, wools, leathers and jewels. From 1544, it was a fruit and vegetable market that was held here.
