The Michelin Guide's review
This lake, created at the end of the Verdon gorges in 1975, covers 2,200ha/5,400acres, and is now lined with beaches and characteristic Provençal villages. Its intense blue-green water stretches out for 10km/6mi, making it ideal for water sports. One of the best views is from the roof of Notre Dame de Baudinard, which commands a fine view over the lake and Valensole plateau.
