The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1535 on land donated by Francisco Pizarro to Gerónimo de Aliaga, one of his co-conquistadors, the Casa de Aliaga still belongs to the latter's family. Admire the tasteful porch topped with a wooden balcony from the Republican era, and the inner patio (zaguán), where a fountain plays. A handsome staircase leads to an upper gallery adorned with carved wooden railings. Inside are a fine collection of 16C to 18C furniture, statues, colonial art and French porcelain.
