The Michelin Guide's review
This palace (18C-19C) was residence of the monarchs Louis and Maria Pia from 1862 onwards. Over two levels, it shows a series of rooms with painted ceilings decorated with a profusion of furniture, tapestries, statues (Machado de Castro), paintings (Domingos Sequeira, Vieira Portuense) and decorative objects from the 19C. It is one of the most comprehensive Romantic collections in Europe.
