The high castle, the defensive nucleus of the fortress, is reached via ramps and a bridge. The Green Tower rising above the site was restored and converted into a lookout point. The view takes in the valley of the Wiese, the wooded massif of the Blauen, the soft contours of the Black Forest and, on the horizon, the Swiss Alps.
