  The Michelin Guide's review
From 1702 to 1729, Lunéville was the favoured place of residence of Léopold, Duke of Lorraine. A great admirer of the Sun King, he commissioned Germain Boffrand to build a modest "replica" of Versailles here. Later, Stanislas Leszczynski continued the embellishment of the property, which became known as the "château of light". Despite the fire which destroyed some of the castle's art and history in 2003, concerts and exhibitions are now held here in what is a pleasant place to visit and a leading cultural centre.
