The Michelin Guide's review
Nothing was too good for the construction of the mosque dedicated to Ahmed Al Fateh, the ‘Conqueror’ and founder of the Khalifa dynasty. The omnipresent marble comes from Carrara, the monumental doors are made of Indian teak, the chandelier is made of Swarovski crystal and the lamp globes are made of blown glass from Biot. As for the immense dome that crowns the courtyard, it is made entirely of fibreglass. It is the largest construction of its kind in the world (60 tonnes).
