The Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Gandoca-Manzanillo (83km2) is made up of a mosaic of ecosystems. Several villages are tucked away within its boundaries along with a multitude of plants and animals. The walk is easier if you take the coastal route, along which are nurseries for various marine creatures, in particular turtles.
