The Michelin Guide's review
The village of Medirigiriya is famous for its sacred site, the monastery of Mandalagiri Vihara. It is comprised of a vatadage (circular temple) built on a rock and depicted by 3 concentric rows of 68 pillars with carved extremities. They surround a dagoba framed by 4 Buddhas on the four cardinal points making a strange and striking picture.
