 Well worth the diversions
Religious monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
After passing the temples of Sanbutsu-ji and Monjudo, the climb continues. Be sure to keep both hands free, because you will need them to grab onto the massive tree roots to help you scale the steep cliffs. Next you will reach the tiny Kannon-do temple, built inside a bare cave, and after that, up on the ridge, the majestic Nageiredo temple, a national treasure! Nestled inside a fault line since the 12C, it is perched on stilts some 7m/22ft high.
