A church was founded in 908 on the site of a Merovingian cemetery, and sarcophagi were used in the construction of St Martin's Priory. The chancel, elevated in the 11C, has a Romanesque arch, supported by three semi-circular arches. A column, and the beginnings of the arches of the old vaults still remain in the gatehouse.
