The Michelin Guide's review
Built during the Hundred Years' War by Louis II de Bourbon and his successors, Jean I and Charles I, this château from the 15C and 16C has a vast rectangular corps de logis flanked by a turret and a sturdy rectangular tower on the side facing the town. Protected by a rampart and by the town's surrounding wall, of which there are vestiges in the Jardin Wilson, its intended purpose was to defend the town.
