Scrabo Country Park

 Michelin Guide
 Natural site
  The Michelin Guide's review
The two landmarks of this park are Mount Scrabo, a hill of volcanic origins whose stone was used to build Mount Stewart, and Scrabo Tower. Erected in 1857 in memory of the third marquis of Londonderry (1778-1854), it contains an exhibition devoted to Strangford Lough and its natural habitat. The entire site, set in a natural park, commands an outstanding view of the Lough and the Mourne Mountains to the south. In the distance you will see Belfast in the north.
