  The Michelin Guide's review
East of Uppsala lies a coastal fringe known as Roslagen. The area is renowned for its medieval churches (1150-1300), with frescoes depicting scenes from the Bible, and its former forge villages, in memory of the metal industry which prospered in the 16C and 17C. Make sure you stroll through the narrow streets of Öregrund, a small but picturesque fishing port dominated by an old lighthouse and a 15C church.
