The Michelin Guide's review
As you explore the complex of Wat Yai Suwannaram, you may well catch sight of a saffron-robed monk meditating under a banyan tree or walking peacefully in the shade of the finely sculpted wooden roofs. Built in 1660, the temple was renovated by Rama V in the late 19C. To the right, the sala (a pavilion used for rest) comes from Ayutthaya and was brought here during the sack of Ayutthaya by the Burmese army.
