The Michelin Guide's review
The Phu Hin Rongkla national park, which abounds in waterfalls and rock formations (such as those at Lan Hin Riep), is an important site in modern Thai history as its hills sheltered partisans from the Communist Party of Thailand from 1968 to 1982 and was the scene of numerous skirmishes with the army. A few remains of their headquarters are still visible in the park, which is also home to an open-air museum and a small exhibition dedicated to the history of the communist partisans.
