These magnificent gardens are the work of a whole lifetime, the fruit of patient planning, wise planting and continual care and attention, not to mention a helping hand from the mild Gulf Stream. They are a source of unrivalled charm and home to some 2 500 species of local and exotic plants, each of which is labelled: the accompanying guide contains a list of the most interesting plants. Inverewe House, restored in 2016, pays homage to the incredible work of Osgood Mackenzie and his daughter.
