You can reach Castle Brown by following steps leading up from the port past the church of San Giorgio. This 10C fortress has been rebuilt on numerous occasions; it was the residence of the British consul Sir Montague Yeats Brown from 1867 to 1905 and now houses numerous works of art. However, the highlight of this walk is the stunning view it offers of Portofino and the gulf of Rapallo. Continue along the path to the lighthouse for more extensive views which extend right along the coast as far as La Spezia.
