City and village
The Michelin Guide's review
The fortress-rock of Vysehrad once defended the outskirts of Prague. The focus of many myths and stories linked to the founding of the city, it became an important national site in the late 19C. With its trees, cemetery (which has become a pantheon of famous Czech figures) and greenery, Vyšehrad has a slightly rural air. The site is home to several interesting monuments, including a beautiful church and some fine examples of Cubist architecture.
