The Michelin Guide's review
In 1813 Laura Secord set out from her home in enemy-held Queenston and walked 30km/19mi through the bush to warn the British of a surprise attack planned by the Americans. Forewarned, the British won a great victory at the subsequent Battle of Beaver Dams. This simple wooden homestead has now been restored and named after the Canadian heroine.
