The Michelin Guide's review
Situated on the western slopes of the watershed, Kootenay National Park, the driest part of the Canadian Rockies, boasts a wide variety of landscapes. Its unusual mix of ecosystems includes Alpine tundra, fir forests, semi-arid valleys dotted here and there with cactus plants, and red cedar forests which are typical of the wet areas of Western Canada.
