The Michelin Guide's review
Built in the 13C by the Franciscans and turned into a mausoleum for the Malatesta family in the 14C, Rimini cathedral was transformed by Leon Battista Alberti at the behest of Sigismondo Malatesta in 1447. In addition to exquisitely allegorical decoration by Agostino di Duccio, the cathedral also houses other remarkable works, including a superb painting by Piero della Francesca depicting Sigismondo before his patron saint and a crucifix by Giotto.
