The Michelin Guide's review
The only surviving part of the Duke de Berry's château is the chapel (14C). Its chancel boasts harmonious lines and 15C stained-glass windows. Prosper Mérimée was an admirer of the windows and their bright colours. The Sainte Chapelle stands alongside the charming garden of the court of appeals; the statue is of lawyer Michel de l'Hospital, who was a delegate to the Grands Jours de Justice of Riom in 1542.
