The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1938 by the architects Guerrini, La Padula and Romano, it is EUR's most distinctive building. Engraved with the grandiloquent inscription to the glory of the Italian people ‘A people of poets, artists, heroes, saints, thinkers, scientists, navigators and travellers’, it has a massive appearance, accentuated by the repetition of the rows of arcades. Allegorical statues representing the various arts are placed beneath the arcades on the ground floor. Restored by Fendi, the building now houses the headquarters of the Roman fashion house, which holds regular exhibitions there.
