The Michelin Guide's review
The house where Ottaviano Augusto lived on the Palatine from 36 BCE encompasses several dwellings from the 2C-1C BCE. A "light and sound" show adds a dramatic quality to the rooms and their elegant decoration, while the tour of the edifice itself is most interesting. Note the room of masks, the room of perspectives and the room of columns, without, of course, forgetting Augustus' small private study, a masterpiece of elegance and sophistication.
