The Michelin Guide's review
The wooden sculptures displayed at the Tay Phuong pagoda are worthy of particular note as they are a perfect illustration of this art form. Decorative features embellishing the pagoda's structure and statues reveal great realism in their impressive detail. Don't miss the statue of the ascetic Buddha in the second room, nor those of the Eight Judges of Hell and the Sixteen Patriarchs, with their very expressive features, in the next room.
