The Michelin Guide's review
The California Academy of Sciences (1853) reopened its doors in 2008 after ten years of refurbishments. Architect Renzo Piano has transformed the building into a model of ecologically sound architecture. The visit revolves around several exhibits: Osher Rainforest, the Swamp, the Planetarium, Steinhard Aquarium, with 6 000 aquatic specimens, and quality temporary exhibitions. From the Living Roof exhibit, the panoramic view is majestic.
