Oslawa Valley, Lemko Churches Route

 Michelin Guide
 Well worth the diversions
Religious monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
The River Oslawa flows into the San at Zagorz. Running for 40km, the route winds through an undulating and wooded landscape, punctuated by wooden churches built by the Lemko people in the 19C. Visitors may be surprised to find so many architectural wonders and icons, but it should be remembered that the majority of these churches were destroyed during wars or under communism; all the more reason to cherish these surviving examples.
