The Michelin Guide's review
The masía Codorniu once belonged to the Raventós family, who introduced the champagne technique for creating sparkling wine into Catalonia. The old masía was modernised between 1896 and 1906 by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, who was responsible for some interesting constructions, among which the Despatch pavilion, lit by coloured stained-glass windows, the vault of which is upheld by large parabolic arches. Cava matures in these complex underground structures.
