The church stands 17km from Sassari, in the midst of a barren landscape. It is all that remains of a former Camaldolese abbey. Built in the 12C in layers of black and white stone, it was almost entirely restored in the early 20C. The apse is decorated with a superb cycle of mosaics depicting the Life of Christ.
