Civil and military monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
An emblematic work of Hungarian Art Nouveau, this palace was built in 1907 by the architect Ede Magyar, known as the "Hungarian Gaudí". It was commissioned by Iván Reök, a hydraulic engineer, and water is the main theme underpinning the ornamentation. Blue water lilies decorate the white façade and the balcony details call to mind aquatic plants. Reök-palota was beautifully refurbished in 2007 and houses a cultural centre where exhibitions, concerts and performances are held.
