The Michelin Guide's review
At a depth of over 1 000m, the canyon of the Western Sea comprises a granite landscape of cliffs and ridges, with the occasional twisted pine tree clinging to the mountainside. Upstream from here, the gateway to the Western Sea, a balcony jutting into the void, forms an impressive picture above the clouds, the famous Sea of Clouds. The canyon path is the most spectacular of all the hikes in the Yellow Mountains - a truly breathtaking route which occasionally clings right to the rockface!
