Le theatre was built by the Greeks but remodelled by the Romans, who laid it out for circus games. Part of the seating was hewn directly out of the rock, so it echoes the form of the terrain. From the high cavea, you will be enchanted by the magnificent panoramic view over Mt Etna and the coast. Thanks to its perfect acoustics, it has been elected to host the international festivals, Taormina Film Fest and Taormina Arte.
