17C Drumlanrig Castle is particularly majestic with four square towers at each corner of the courtyard in keeping with regional architectural traditions. The main façade however breaks with this tradition, with its façade, terraces, horseshoe staircase, dramatic turreted skyline and rich sculptural detail. The interior exhibits a superb collection of paintings, fine furniture and rare clocks.
